LIVERSEMINARS

INTERNATIONAL SEMINARS ON BASIC AND TRANSLATIONAL RESEARCH IN HEPATOLOGY OPEN TO EVERYONE

The LiverSeminars program is designed as a new educational initiative aimed at enhancing the translational research in the field of Hepatology in our country. For that, the LiverSeminars program will bring the most prestigious scientists in the field of Hepatology to interact with the research community of our territory.

To this end, and thanks to the support from Gilead Sciences, CIBEREHD and AEEH, the Institutes of Biomedical Research IDIBAPS (Barcelona) and IiSGM (Madrid) join forces organizing this educational activity that takes place monthly in Barcelona and Madrid.

Since its inauguration, in September 2017, we hosted eminent scientists that met with a variety of teams from diferent Spanish institutions, gave excellent seminars that are now available in this website, and importantly started new collaborations with local teams.

During the COVID-19 crisis, the LiverSeminars keep going but adapted to this challenging situation using online platforms. Seminars are free and open to the Hepatology Community and to the entire Society.

We encourage you to discover in detail this educational program by surfing on the website.

Kindest regards, Jordi Gracia and Rafael Bañares, co-founders and scientific co-directors of the LiverSeminars Program

Jordi Gracia & Javier Cubero, scientific co-directors of the 2024-2025 LiverSeminars Program

Jordi Gracia & Rafael Bañares, co-founders and co-directors of the LiverSeminars Program (2017-2024)

The LiverSeminars program was launched in September 2017 as a pioneering educational initiative to promote translational research in Hepatology within our country. By bringing together the most prestigious scientists in the field, the program facilitates meaningful interactions with the local research community.

Starting in 2025, the LiverSeminars program transitions from a monthly event to two annual seminars, held in winter (Madrid) and summer (Barcelona). Each event will feature four distinguished speakers, maintaining our core philosophy of advancing research education, knowledge exchange, and fostering collaborations in the field of Hepatology.

Supported by Gilead Sciences, CIBEREHD, and AEEH, and organized in collaboration with the Biomedical Research Institutes IDIBAPS (Barcelona) and IiSGM (Madrid), LiverSeminars has hosted renowned scientists who have engaged with research teams from various Spanish institutions, delivered outstanding seminars (available on our website), and sparked valuable new collaborations.

During the COVID-19 crisis, LiverSeminars adapted to the challenges by moving to online platforms, ensuring the program’s continuity. The seminars remain free and open to both the Hepatology community and the general public.

We invite you to explore the program on our website and join us in this exciting new phase of LiverSeminars!
