Institut Pasteur de Lille
Rita Manco is a Young Group Leader at Inserm UMR1011 (Institut Pasteur de Lille/Université de Lille). After spending three years as a postdoctoral fellow at the Weizmann Institute in the laboratory of Shalev Itzkovitz, where she applied spatial and single-cell approaches to study liver regeneration, she returned to Belgium to complete her postdoctoral training in the laboratory of Isabelle Leclercq at UCLouvain, where she investigated how the liver microenvironment and cellular niche regulate liver regeneration. She now leads a research group investigating how extracellular matrix remodeling, liver sinusoidal endothelial cells, and mechanotransduction control liver cell plasticity and regeneration in chronic liver disease.
